Unless you can find a friend who doesn't want theirs anymore, the best way to purchase a DVD player is still directly from Clearplay. Here are the options currently available.
Option #1: The New ClearPlay USB Player
This guy is the latest and greatest DVD player available from Clearplay, and the price has recently dropped too! It's slimmer, more advanced and easier to use than previous players offered by Clearplay. Best of all, loading filters is downright simple thanks to the USB connection on the front of the player.
I'm sure you've seen these handy USB flash drives, right? You can put these on your keychain or keep them in your purse. Well now this is all you need to transfer movie filters to the new Clearplay DVD player! Just plug it in to your computer, transfer the filter onto the flash drive and then plug it into the DVD player using the USB connection on the front. Nice!
This player is currently selling for $79.95. You may add a membership level during checkout process if you don't have a Clearplay membership already. Personally, I think the one-year membership is the best value for new members, as it gives you plenty time to evaluate the product but doesn't lock you in for years and years.
Option #2: The MaxPlay DVD Player
You're second option for Clearplay-enabled DVD players in this MaxPlay DVD player. While it is older and bit more "clunky", it can definitely get the job done. The MaxPlay player has the progressive scan technology and compononent outputs for a quality experience. The difference lies in how you transfar movie filters to the player.
The MaxPlay DVD player works similar to a Tivo or DVR by connecting to the Internet via a traditional phone line and downloading filters directly. While this may be handy for some, without a phone jack close by, connecting the player can be a challenge. There is no USB option on this player, so check beforehand to ensure that a phone line is within reach.
